Torridge Growing Together CIC

TGT (as we are commonly known) is a community-led organisation based in the North Devon area, centred around Bideford and the District of Torridge.

What do we grow? People!
We provide opportunities to develop friendships, confidence and skills through community gardening, conservation, upcycled crafts and other activities. You can expect a warm welcome and every effort is made to adapt to different needs and abilities. We also actively encourage people to share their skills and knowledge with the team.

Connecting with nature is so good for both our mental and physical health and being part of a friendly group also helps to tackle loneliness. Growing lovely, organic food to share is an added bonus!

There are all sorts of volunteering opportunities with TGT:

• Some people choose to bring a carer for added support
• Others attend as regular volunteers
• We grow our own ‘Gardening Buddies’ and other peer mentors, who take on responsibility to help others
• We have volunteers helping to make and sell items, working in our media team, helping with fundraising etc.
• We are also seeking more administrative help

We have a ‘Growing Towards Employment’ project, aimed mainly at those who have been out of work for a long time and we are starting to offer some supported employment opportunities.
